Dave White, hailed as one of the best upcoming UK artists, has painted a 5 by for foot picture of the difinitive Street Fighter charachter Ryu.

The painting (shown below) has an estimated value of 5 to 10 thousand pounds.

The artist had this to say about the piece:

“For the past 18 years I have been playing Street Fighter in all its guises and versions. For me and millions of others it’s more than just a videogame, it’s a total obsession and way of life. Something more akin to the complex structure of chess, every match is different and every second offers chances and possibilities, risks and drama. That’s why I play.”

Zak Bennett set a new world record last week as he claimed the longest street fighter win streak in the world beating numerous challengers. His first attempt ended at 28 games, but this proved to be a warm up as the Guinness world record now stands at 108 conceutive wins.

Capcom have announced that once they have released Street Fighter IV, they will release a range of costume packs sequentially. there will be 5 packs each containing an extra costume for 5 of the characters. the packs will be priced in the area of £3.

Additionally there is said to be a “Championship” Mode in the pipeline that capcom will release for free later in the year.

Cammy - Beat Arcade Mode with Crimson Viper.

Fei Long - Beat Arcade Mode with Abel.

Gen - Beat Arcade Mode with Chun Li.

Rose - Beat Arcade Mode with M. Bison (Dictator).

Sakura - Beat Arcade Mode with Ryu.

Dan - Beat Arcade Mode with Sakura.

Akuma - Beat Arcade Mode with every character, unlockable and non-unlockable (except Akuma, Gouken and Seth)

Gouken - First, you must have all the unlockable characters unlocked that are available up to this point, including Akuma. Restart Arcade Mode with Akuma and get at least 2 Ultra Combo finishes and 2 Perfect Finishes. Gouken will challenge you. Win the match to unlock him.
