heres a video review of halo wars made by Game On

Set for release on the 3rd of march, Halo wars is a Strategy game based on the 3 previous FPS titles Set in the halo universe. the demo of which gives you access to the first 2 levels of the UNSC army campaign as well as one multiplayer/skirmish map.

the first mission of the campaign sees you take command of a UNSC sargeant in his heavily armed warthog. tasked with regaining control of a nearby military base, you rally up with any and all allied forces before storming and rebuilding the covenant occupied base.

the second has you build up and defend the recently recaptured base, and sets you the goal of amassing an army and finding out what the covenant are upto in a nearby cave. exploration of the map reveals side objectives that result in allied reinfocements and damage to the enemy resources. once you fight your way into the cave your rewarded with a cutscene and a trailer of the full game.

Skirmishes in the game appear to be done rather well also, taking control of one of an array of  UNSC and covenant commanders with their own unique units and perks. though in the demo your limeted to only one from each.

Halo Wars has all the makings of a great strategy game, but might not be a strong compettetor to bigger titles such as Command and Conquer or Tom Clancy’s Endwar. But still, it should definatley be worth a second look.
