UK Artist Street Fighter Tribute

Posted by Alex | Filed under: All Format

Dave White, hailed as one of the best upcoming UK artists, has painted a 5 by for foot picture of the difinitive Street Fighter charachter Ryu.

The painting (shown below) has an estimated value of 5 to 10 thousand pounds.

The artist had this to say about the piece:

“For the past 18 years I have been playing Street Fighter in all its guises and versions. For me and millions of others it’s more than just a videogame, it’s a total obsession and way of life. Something more akin to the complex structure of chess, every match is different and every second offers chances and possibilities, risks and drama. That’s why I play.”

Sigourney Weaver Wants in Ghostbusters Game Too Late

Posted by Alex | Filed under: All Format

The producer of the Ghostbusters game, Brendan Goss, has revealed that the games developer Terminal Reality Asked Sigourney Weaver to lend her voice to her origional charachter of Dana Barrett.

Weaver apparently changed her tune and wanted in on the game once Bill Murray confirmed his involvement. unfortunatley it was too late to rewrite the games story as a new leading lady had been written in.

Even without Sigourney Weaver involved, the game looks set to be amazing. We have screenshots and a trailer here:

I Am Alive Pulled from developers By Ubisoft

Posted by Alex | Filed under: All Format

Ubisoft have elected to pull their upcoming game “I Am Alive” from its producers Darkworks in order to produce it themselves.

A spokesman for Ubisoft had this to say: “In order to respect the new launch date for this ambitious title, and Darkworks having other obligations, we have mutually decided to complete development of I Am Alive at Ubisoft Shanghai, as the two studios have collaborated on aspects of the title over the past year. The team at Darkworks has respected its contractual obligations on the project and will be a part of the success of the game when it launches.”

Darkworks CEO Antoine Vilette said this on the matter: “It has been a long time we have been working with them and, as an external developer, we have been treated well,” “For Ubisoft, for original IP it is very aggressive. They are quite willing to take risks and they deserve some applause for that. They have as much original IP as they do sequels but I think that’s fair.”

Bioshock 2 Teaser Site Live

Posted by Alex | Filed under: All Format

The teaser site for the sequel to the game Bioshock has become live recently. The site shows little to no information about the game. All that can be seen is a world map with an X marked on Ireland and the date 2/27/67 written above it, this may indicate the game is set in 1967. Also on the world map is a pin holding 3 slips of paper that you can click and have a closer look at, the first of which is a photograph of a doll that somewhat resembles the ‘Big Daddy’. the second is what seems to be newspaper clipping of a story that’s headline reads: “LOCAL GIRL VANISHES IN MYSTERIOUS ATTACK” below which is a picture of a litle girl. the third is a handwritten letter from a “J-linch” that has notes written by the recipient.

I look forward to seeing what else will be released on this website at time progresses.
